Fun in the Jungle!!

See our little Gator?  We wondered what would happen if we put him in water.  First we traced around him and colored him in. Tthen we made our PREDICTIONS.  We can't wait to find out what will happen!
We had some great PREDICTIONS!

We have also been busy building really big buildings!! So big, I couldn't even get it in the picture!  Wow!

Life in The Jungle isn't all fun and games, though!  We had some serious work counting out "gumballs" into our gumball machines!

I think the hardest part was keeping the "gumballs" from rolling away!

A day in the life of the Adventure Preschool!

Our day begins when we arrive at school, hang up our coats and backpacks and bring our library books, Learning Bags and folders into the classroom!

The we get to have free play!  We play in the kitchen and daycare!

We also have out glue, scissors, paper and markers to create different master-pieces!

Push play to hear our welcome song at the welcome circle!
After we sing, we do our bubble gum days counting, colors, weather and number tales book!

On library days, we line up and walk to the library to choose a book to take home and read!

We know how to line up and wait patiently and quietly in the library while Mrs. Cronk checks out our books!

We are so lucky to have our 6th grade reading buddies come down and read to us after library!

SNACK TIME!!

After snack we have our focus groups and time to play and explore our science experiements!

Our Story Circle always starts with a song!  We have been singing The Wheels on the Bus before reading our stories about community helpers!

After our story, it is time to go outside and play!!

We are loving the beautiful weather!

And just like that, our day is done and we say goodbye until next time!
(before they leave, they always come to me and say, "You're going to miss us aren't you Mrs. P!"  and YES I do!! :)

We love to explore!! UPDATE!

We had some fancy corn in the science center!  We began wondering if it might start to grow if we planted it.

We found a little tub that was the same size and placed it inside.  Then we figured that it would need some water.  We poured in a little bit of water.

Plants also need sun.  We placed it in a nice sunny window!  We aren't sure if anything will happen but it sure is fun to explore!

Are you ready to see what happened?
It sprouted!
The entire cob started sprouting!

Even the kernels that fell off started sprouting!

Here is a nice clear shot of the VORTEX bottle!

And here is where you can find a VORTEX in your own home!  Maybe this will get them to flush! ; )

Check out our Community Helpers!

We pretended we were mail carriers!

We served up some wonderful food in our "restaurant"!

Fire Fighters are very important!

Construction Workers build our world!

The VORTEX bottle!

We have made a VORTEX bottle!  More commonly known as a tornado bottle.  We filled one bottle about 2/3 full of red water.  Using the connector, we connected the two bottles together.  If you flip it over fast, nothing leaves the top bottle!  We tried all different ways of getting the water from the top bottle to the bottom bottle.  You can squeeze the top.  You can squeeze the bottom.  The most fun is if you give it a little twirl!

You get a Vortex!  Why?  In order for the water to move from the top to the bottom, air needs to be able to "trade places" with the water.

It was just so much fun to explore the bottle and figure out how it works!

Next we drew pictures of what we saw happening in the bottle!  The kids had so much fun drawing and exploring!
