Science Experiments! Growing Crystals - update 10/12

We started a science experiment this week!  We are going to try and grow some crystals.  I will post updated pictures as they grow!

Ingredients: Salt, Liquid Bluing, Water and Ammonia
Other: Q-tips, Food Coloring, Oil based Clay

After placing Q-tips in the clay, we put food coloring on the tips.  We then mixed the ingredients together and poured it into the little cups.
After about 8 hours, the crystals started growing up the Q-tip.

After one day, the Crystals are moving up the Q-tip and forming on the container.
We can't wait to see what happens when the crystals reach the colorful Q-tips!

We used Magnifying glasses to help us see the crystals!

We drew pictures of what we saw in the crystal garden!  Then everyone told Mrs. P. what they saw and she wrote it on their papers!  Come see the awesome science pictures outside of our classroom!
